NOAA Updates Hurricane Season Forecast

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has posted an update to their prediction for the 2010 Hurricane Season.  And while the season has gotten off to a slow start, NOAA is expecting the 11th above average year since 1995.  For full details on this updated prediction go to http://www.cpc.noaa.gov/products/outlooks/hurricane.shtml

Press Release: August 12th Meeting Special Guest Tammie Souza

Tammie Souza, Chief Meteorologist at WTSP Ch 10 in Tampa Bay will be the special guest speaker at the August 12th CARS meeting.  Click here for the official press release.  Start time is 7:30pm and the doors will open at 6:30pm.  We will hold our raffle at the end of the business meeting and tickets will be sold before the meeting and during the break.  Tickets are $10 at the meeting or $11 online.  Click here for more details about the raffle.

New FCC Ruling

April Meeting Review 
CARS April meeting featured Tom Crowley from SARA (Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers). Tom delivered an excellent presentation about radio astronomy that the 12 members in attendance seemed to appreciate.  It was a great program, maybe we can invite Tom back next year to a better turnout.
